I know this is a little late. But as they say "Better Late Than Never".  Tonight, September 1st at 6pm PDT there is going to be a big reveal of ALL Call of Duty:Black Ops MP will have to offer!

Over at the Official Call of Duty:Black Ops Forums pcdev confirmed that Call of Duty:Black Ops will have MOD Tools and Dev Console. But he mentions that the MOD Tools will not be released until after the initial release of the game.

We plan to open the game up for modding sometime post-launch. We do not know yet to what extent you will be able to mod the game. There are some purely technical issues related to engine and internal tool enhancements that do not easily fit the modtools paradigm. We have looked at it close enough to see that it is non-trivial and we will have to pick it up again post-launch. Right now we are completely focused on finishing the game.

And, dev console: confirmed.

Today we get a look at the Hardened and Prestige editions of Call of Duty:Black Ops.

 

Hardened Edition:

During Activision’s second quarter earnings call, CEO Bobby Kotick said that  Call of Duty: Black Ops represents the company’s largest ever marketing investment.

This across the board is the biggest investment that we’ve ever made in a launch of a title,” the executive told investors. “The market opportunity is bigger than it’s ever been. The installed base of hardware is bigger than it’s ever been.
